Atlas Travel International is Working to Help You
Meet Secure Flight Requirements
Secure Flight is a program developed by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) in response to a key 9/11 Commission recommendation: uniform watch list matching by TSA. The mission of the Secure Flight program is to enhance the security of domestic and international commercial air travel through the use of improved watch list matching. Under the Secure Flight rule, airlines request additional information from you when making a reservation to fly within, into, out of, or over the continental United States.
Under the Secure Flight Final Rule, TSA will require airlines to collect and send to TSA the following information:
* Full Name (required)
* Redress Number (optional)
Under the Secure Flight Rule, TSA may soon require airlines to also send a traveler's date of birth and gender, so we will be asking for your help in preparing this information as well.
As of May 18, 2009, Atlas will begin the process of updating records to fulfill these new requirements...
• Travelers are required to provide a government-issued photo ID that you will use for both domestic and international travel for security clearance. If your driver's license does not match your passport and you travel internationally, you can use the name as it appears on your driver's license as long as you carry your driver's license in addition to your passport!
• The name on your reservation (i.e. your traveler profile at Atlas) must EXACTLY match the photo ID you will use for security clearance!
In addition...
• Travelers must update airline frequent flyer accounts so that those records have the exact same name as your profile and photo ID. This is the only way to assure that your frequent flier miles are credited properly.
