Atlas Travel International Book Signing
Events in Lexington and Milford a
Huge Success!

A half-hour before the event was slated to begin, two dozen girls and their moms were in line outside Atlas Travel International in Lexington to meet Beacon Street Girls (BSG) creator Addie Swartz. And the girls just kept coming. "We are thrilled to be partnering with Beacon Street Girls," said Elaine Osgood, owner of the award-winning travel agency. "These have been wonderful kick-off events. We are really looking forward to launching the family tours to Beacon Street Girls destinations."

Atlas Travel and its innovative fashion emporium, Savvy Travel Shop, in downtown Lexington, MA were the site of the first Beacon Street Girls event on Friday, Dec. 1st. On Saturday, Dec. 2nd, from 10AM-1PM, Beacon Street Girls editorial director Roberta McPhee greeted girls at Atlas Travel's Milford, MA headquarters.

"It was amazing to see girls showing up with shopping bags filled with their collection of Beacon Street Girls books," said Osgood. "This brand really resonates with enthusiastic 9-13 year olds and they take their reading and the characters very seriously."

When Osgood was tuning in a radio station for background music, she asked girls standing in line, "What music do you think the Beacon Street Girls listen to?" BSG fans were all too ready to imagine the answer. Girls had traveled to the Atlas events from as far away as Marlboro and Wayland, MA and Warwick, RI.

BSG creators Addie Swartz and Roberta McPhee engaged the girls in conversation about their favorite books, the character who is most like them, and more BSG trivia. Girls received free collector buttons, bookmarks and an opportunity to enter the first Beacon Street Girls Sweepstakes, the winner of which will enjoy a trip for two to Paris, sponsored by Atlas Travel International.

Atlas' Savvy Travel Shop will continue to stock Beacon Street Girls merchandise, including the line of beautiful Paris-inspired items connected to the newest book, Charlotte in Paris. "I'm all about win-win situations," said Osgood. "This is a big win for us, for Beacon Street Girls and for the families who enjoy these books."
