YOTEL makes an airport layover more hospitable

This summer, fliers traveling through Britain's Gatwick airport have a way to cope with unexpected delays, long layovers or early-morning flights.

It's the YOTEL -- a budget lodging in the terminal featuring soundproof "cabins" with beds, bathrooms, entertainment systems and room service.  You can book a room (standard or premium) for up to four hours (from about $50) or for a night (about $100). Inspired by British Airways' first-class sleeping compartments and Japanese capsule hotels, YOTEL windowless accommodations resemble cruise-ship cabins.

Watch for a YOTEL at London's Heathrow airport later this year.
