Atlas CEO and COO Network at BCD Global Summit
A Message from Elaine Osgood, Atlas Travel International CEO
I am pleased to share with you that Mark Miller and I recently traveled to Athens for the first BCD Travel Global Summit. This was a wonderful opportunity for us to meet the owners and operating executives from the BCD agencies throughout the world. We all know that Global Travel Management is a top priority (and necessity) for many of the companies we serve. I have long believed that the only way to truly accomplish travel management outside the U.S. is to create personal relationships with agency personnel in key cities. Many agencies purport to have a "global network," but that network is only as strong and meaningful as the relationships within it.
When a client needs important data feedback on trips to a city in Europe or Asia, we need to be able to pick up a phone or send an email to a real person who understands our commitment to customer service. When a client needs to negotiate a rate at a favorite local hotel in Singapore, it takes personal relationships to make that happen. These are the real-world circumstances of travel and our reputation within the BCD network is affording us those relationships. It is not enough to say you are part of a network, you need to make those connections. This was the first BCD Global Summit and it was so successful for all parties involved, that BCD pledges to make this event happen once or twice each year to afford us this access to enhance these relationships.
I will keep you updated on progress on the global management piece of our business and use every opportunity to enhance service to your company.
