Atlas Advisory Board Meeting at Sheraton Tara in Framingham a Great Success
Atlas Travel International kicked off its 2007 Advisory Board schedule with a recent meeting in Framingham at the Sheraton Tara. The purpose of the Atlas Advisory Board is to get feedback from both key corporate customers and vendors on Atlas plans and activities. Steve Soto of Reardon Commerce treated guests to a presentation and demonstration of his company's online personal concierge system. Atlas has been in discussions with Reardon for over a year, exploring how the system might complement services already provided by the agency. Board members were able to ask cogent, insightful questions and consider the addition of this technology, while Atlas could more fully evaluate how new technologies like Reardon might be adopted by its corporate customers.
In addition, the group discussed this summer's NBTA convention in Boston and how Atlas can make a splash at the industry's largest gathering. The group also offered suggestions and questions about Cliqbook, Atlas' online booking system, and requested that a Cliqbook representative be present at a future Atlas Advisory Board Meeting.
"We are always looking for new members to our Advisory Board," said Elaine Osgood, Atlas president and CEO. "We typically meet over breakfast or lunch and find the exchange extremely valuable. Everyone is so busy and this allows us two hours to really interface with the people whose input is most important."
Service on the Atlas Advisory Board affords members first-look at new technology, products and services being offered by the agency and, often, ground-floor opportunities to test these offerings at reduced or no cost. Travel managers, vendors and travelers who would like to participate in future meetings (there are four each year), should contact Atlas CEO Elaine Osgood at elaine.osgood@atlastravel.com.
