US Airways has acquired slots to become the third new entrant US carrier to fly from Heathrow from 2008.
The fifth largest US airline is to start daily flights to Philadelphia from March 29, 2008, under the new US-EU transatlantic open skies freedoms.
US Airways will join Delta Air Lines and Continental Airlines as newcomers on transatlantic routes from the London hub next year.
Flights will depart Heathrow at 12.50 arriving in Philadelphia at 16.00 local time. The return will leave Philadelphia at 22.45, landing at Heathrow at 11.05 the following morning local time.
Tickets will go on sale on December 1 when prices will be issued.
The airline is to use Airbus A330 aircraft on the route with 29 business class and 259 economy seats.
