American Airlines To Add New Service To Phoenix From Miami

MIAMI – American Airlines announced today that it will add new nonstop service to Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport from Miami International Airport effective Dec. 13, 2007.

"In addition to making Miami the premier connecting hub for Latin America, American Airlines and American Eagle have been working hard to further develop their strong nationwide presence," said Peter Dolara, American's Senior Vice President – Miami, Caribbean and Latin America. "This new service from Miami to Phoenix supplements our extensive network within the United States and supports the sustained growth of our Miami hub."

The flight to Phoenix will be operated with American's 148-seat Boeing 737-800 aircraft, featuring both First Class and Economy cabins. The schedule for the new service is as follows (all times local):

From its Miami hub, American began offering direct service to Montevideo, Uruguay, in July, while American Eagle added service to Cozumel, Mexico, earlier this year. Nonstop Eagle service to Savannah, Ga., and Sarasota, Fla., are scheduled to start in December, as is new nonstop service on American to Barranquilla, Colombia.
