Spotlight on “A Cerebral Affair” with The Lisa Colagrossi Foundation


On September 29, 2016 The Lisa Colagrossi Foundation (TLCF) and The Joe Niekro Foundation hosted its first annual gala event to raise awareness and funding for brain aneurysms. The event took place at The Lighthouse at Chelsea Piers in New York City.  It was the first time that two different foundations joined forces in their fundraising efforts. Lisa Colagrossi was a former ABC-TV anchor who died from a brain aneurysm in 2015. Her husband Todd Crawford left his job in finance to start the Lisa Colagrossi Foundation. Natalie Niekro started The Joe Niekro Foundation in honor of her father, knuckleball pitcher Joe Niekro, who died from a brain aneurysm in 2006.

In addition to being one of the sponsors of The Lisa Colagrossi Foundation, Atlas played a role in the event production and managed travel for their VIP guests. As event producer, Atlas was responsible for creating and maintaining the run-of-show script, the “bible” of any event production. The “ROS” includes all of the presenter scripts, audio and visual cues, stage management, and screen images and video, and any other performances, to name a few. For several months leading up to the event, we worked closely with all of the presenters on their scripts and the timing of their presentations to make sure it worked with the event timeline. We also collected and managed all of the PowerPoint presentation slides and videos that were to appear on the screen during the event. Since Lisa Colagrossi was an ABC News anchor, WABC-TV was also involved in shooting live footage of the event and the step-and-repeat during the cocktail reception. As event producer, we worked closely with both the WABC-TV cameramen and the venue’s audio-visual company on a strategy for interspersing the live footage with the presentation slides.



We are proud to be partnering again with The Lisa Colagrossi Foundation on their event on Thursday, September 21, 2017 at Chelsea Piers, New York. In addition to travel and production, we’re also providing full logistical event management including event registration, onsite staffing, live and silent auction, food and beverage, décor, program booklets and other deliverables.
